
TRW Gearing Up for Auto Rebound in 2012
TRW Steering & Suspension Co., a leading manufacturer of automotive parts in Thailand, is expecting a rebound of market demands in the first quarter of 2012. The company plans to increase its production capacity catering to growth outlook of Asian’s automotive industry in the near future.
Mr. Somjate Pirommark, Human Resource Manager of TRW Steering & Suspension Co. Ltd., said the company plans to add up to 30 percent of its current workforce in 2012 in order to increase the company’s production capacity. TRW is expecting increasing demands for automotive parts as automotive industry picks up its course in the first quarter.
TRW Steering & Suspension, a manufacturing arm of the US-based TRW Automotive, is a leading producer of suspension ball joint, steering linkage and front corner module. Automotive industry analysts said year 2012 will be an exciting period for the local automotive sector as players will ante up their strategies in order to remain competitive in the field. Although flooding in Thailand had disrupted supply chain of the world’s automotive industry, analysts said global auto industry outlook in 2012 is rosy.
Mr. Somjate said growth prospective in global automotive industry will help accelerate the recovery of automobile production in Thailand and demand for auto parts will grow accordingly. TRW thus plans to improve its overall capacity. Management and production process will be improved to employ international standards such as TS16949 and ISO 14001.
